In yet another case of fear of failure and exam stress, a 19-year-old just out of teenage, was found dead in an unnatural way.

The victim identified as Dhanush is from Salem district's Kalliyoor village and this National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) exam was said to be his third attempt to clear and pursue his dream course.

The boy cleared his XII exam in 2019 and wanted to clear NEET in his third attempt and was said to be under severe stress.

Interestingly the incident comes from Tamil Nadu which was at loggerheads with the Centre over NEET exams claiming that such exams are causing stress to students.

With this latest incident, the TN government again pointed fingers towards the Centre.

A similar incident was reported in 2017, again from Tamil Nadu and a state topper in matriculation, Anitha S from Ariyalur had ended her life as she scored low marks in NEET. The student got only 100 marks out of 700. Interestingly the victim has petitioned in the apex court against the national level medical entrance.

Despite intervention from mental health experts, government-level campaigns not to give up hope and life due to exams and stress, such incidents are being reported.
