But the unfazed actress laughed off the incident in an interview with Suvarna news, saying she loves eggs

Here's what she had to say

“What can I say? I believe that we should not hurt another person even though the other person hurts us. This is my nature and my philosophy. I don’t have any bad feelings for them. They are free to express themselves. It is a democratic country”

“My statement is being misinterpreted. Manohar Parikkar said that Pakistan is hell because there are atrocities and violence in Pakistan. Commenting on his statement, I only clarified that we find such atrocities and violence in India as well, in states like Gujrat, Kashmir and Mangaluru. But TV channels have twisted my statement out of context and people will believe what the media says.

“I don’t know why they hate me. It is okay, I did not feel bad when they hurled eggs, I love eggs and eat eggs every day. So I don’t mind eggs hurled at me”

The actress is already facing sedition charges after a lawyer filed a case against her for praising Pakistan. It all started when the actress, on her return from Pakistan after the Saarc meeting said that “Pakistan is a good country, not hell. Parrikar’s comments (that going to Pakistan or hell is the same thing) are not true.”

According to a report in the Indian Express, the complaint was filed against the former Lok Sabha MP in Kodagu, under several sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including 124-A (sedition).

The court will hear the case on 27 August.
