Coronavirus: Karnataka labour minister Shivaram Hebbar tests positive for COVID-19
Karnataka Minister for Labour and Industrial Development Shivaram Hebbar tested positive for the coronavirus on Saturday.
Bengaluru: Karnataka labour minister A Shivaram Hebbar on September 5 said he and his wife have tested positive for the coronavirus. He added that he would be under treatment in their home being asymptomatic.
He tweeted that he and his wife underwent COVID-19 tests and have been found positive for the virus. He added that there are no symptoms of coronavirus, so he and his family decided to remain in home quarantine on doctors’ advice.
Karnataka chief minister BS Yediyurappa wished the 63-year old leader a speedy recovery and prayed that he continued with his good works.
Earlier, several senior politicians in the state including chief minister BS Yediyurappa, Leader of Opposition Siddaramaiah, Congress state president DK Shivakumar had tested positive for coronavirus.
On September 6, Karnataka witnessed 9,746 new coronavirus cases and 128 deaths.
