Bengaluru: India’s biggest Covid Care Centre at Bengaluru International Exhibition Centre will  be shut down from September 15. This comes after the COVID-19 patients started to choose home isolation.

Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) in a press note said that it is shutting down the 10,100 bedded COVID Care Centre at the Bengaluru Exhibition Center.

According to reports, the state government had converted several stadiums and exhibition centres into COVID care facilities.

The beds and other properties bought by the CCC will be sent to the government and university hostels. So the Social Welfare Department will get over 2,000 sets of furniture for its hostels, followed by Horticulture University hostel in Bagalkot (1000), Minority Welfare Department hostel (1000) and the GKVK (1000).

The other properties will be given to government hospitals and hostels as per demand.

The state health department said that the state on Saturday registered 9,746 cases and 128 deaths due to the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) disease.
