Coronavirus: 13 to 23, single-day death count rises by 10 in Kolkata

The number of deaths due to COVID in Kolkata was 23 in one day. According to reports, the number of COVID-19 deaths reported in a single day in the state has decreased to 45.

Kolkata: Though the number of deaths in a single day due to COVID-19 in the state has come down, the metropolis is still worried about the situation. The number of deaths in a single day in Kolkata rose to 23. On Sunday (August 16) it was 13. On the other hand, the number of deaths due to COVID-19 in West Bengal in a single day has come down to 45.

As per the state health bulletin, 23 people died in the last 24 hours in Kolkata. Presently, the total number of deaths due to COVID-19 in Kolkata is 1,093. According to statistics, 548 people were infected in a single day in Kolkata on August 17. On Sunday (August 16), the number of cases reported was 563. The total number of deaths in West Bengal has risen to 32,867.

Data reveals that the number of active cases in a single day has decreased in Kolkata. In the last 24 hours, the number of active cases reported was 93 taking the total in the state to 6,424. On Sunday (August 16), the number of active cases was 6,517. In the last 24 hours, 618 people returned home from hospital. So far, 25,350 people have recovered and were discharged from hospital.

According to the state health bulletin, the single-day count of deaths in the state has dropped to 45. On Sunday (August 16), there were 51 deaths reported. In the last 24 hours, 3,080 people were infected by COVID-19 in the state. The number was 3,066 on Sunday (August 16). In all, the number of COVID-19 patients in the state has risen to 1,19,578.
