Chennai-Bengaluru direct train to resume services from October 21

The Southern Railway on Monday has announced that a fully reserved double decker special train will begin services from Wednesday, between Dr MGR Chennai Central and KSR Bengaluru stations in both directions.

Bengaluru: After a gap of over six months, direct passenger train services between Chennai and Bengaluru will resume on October 21.

A fully reserved double decker special train will begin services from Wednesday, between Dr MGR Chennai Central and KSR Bengaluru stations in both directions.

The double-decker fully reserved special train will be ply between Chennai-Bengaluru-Chennai from October 21.

As per the notification by Southern Railway. The train will comprise eight AC-chair car coaches and is scheduled to leave Chennai at 7:25am to reach Bengaluru at 1:10pm. In the return direction, the train will depart from Bengaluru at 02:30am to reach Chennai at 08:30pm daily.

Reservations for the above specials are open from 8am on Tuesday, according to the notification.

The trains will stop at Arakkonam, Katpadi Jn, Ambur, Vaniyambadi, Jolarpettai, Kuppam, Bangarapet, Krishnarajapuram and Bangalore Cantt. In the return direction from Bengaluru, the train will stop at Perambur. Reservations will open at 8 am on Tuesday, the Southern Railway said.
