BJP worker aide chased shot dead in SUV Class X student loses life in the spree

In an unfortunate incident in Greater Noida, a BJP worker, his aide and a driver were chased and ambushed in their SUV, before being shot dead. However, this did not happen before the car non-deliberately knocked down a Class X girl was crossing the road.

Eye witnesses say that the SUV was attacked by men on two bikes, who started following the car from a lane in Haibatpur village. While the victims Shiv Kumar Yadav, his driver Balli Nath (38) and bodyguard Raspal (40) were rushed to Fortis hospital, the girl Anjali too was taken to the hospital, but was declared brought dead. Incidentally, Yadav and Nath too lost their lives on the way.

According to a report by the Times of India, Yadav owned a school-Ma Bhagwati Public School in Haibatpur and was constructing another one Bala Devi Public School in same area. He was the resident of Pratap Vihar in Ghaziabad and lived with his wife Neelam, three sons and a daughter. Speaking to the media, his wife said that Yadav had left home in the afternoon for the school. She said, "He had said he would return in some time. We do not know how this tragedy befell us."

According to reports, Yadav was returning from school to his residence at around 2:30 pm in the afternoon when the chase began. An eyewitness said, "The SUV driver suspected a threat and tried to speed away. That is when the vehicle hit 14-year old girl, who was crossing road. She was taken to ESIC Hospital in Noida where she succumbed to injuries. The criminals chased the SUV for nearly 500 metres. They then fired at the SUV's left tyre and punctured it."

Losing control on the car, the driver rammed the car into the divider. "The criminals overtook the SUV and first shot at the driver, who received a bullet in his stomach. They surrounded the SUV from both sides and sprayed bullets from point blank range at the occupants, killing Yadav and Nath at the spot," said another eye witness.

Anjali was a class 10 student in a government school and lived with her parents in Behrampur village. Love Kumar, SSP Noida, said police have launched a search to nab the accused. He said, "We questioned some people at the spot. The criminals had come on bikes. Prima facie, it seems pistols were used in the crime." He also revealed that the culprits may have shot 15-20 rounds at the SUV as there were bullet marks on it. The vehicle's bumper and the front wheel had come off in the chanse. The windshield glasses were also smashed.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Yadav had a dispute over a land in which one person was killed five years ago. He was named as an accused and was jailed too. He was released 2 years ago. From then on, he was receiving security threats.
An active member of the BJP's youth wing, Yadav was responsible for convening meetings during the last Lok Sabha elections and assembly elections, though he did not hold any position in the party.

Meanwhile, local residents blocked the roads, demanding swift action in nabbing the culprits.
