Bhartiya Janata Party held candlelight protest in Kolkata on Tuesday (December 8) against the killing of party worker in Siliguri.

BJP delegation submitted a representation to the State Governor alleging police atrocities in Siliguri leading to death of BJP worker on Monday (December 7).

BJP worker Ulen Roy succumbed to injuries incurred during a protest in which party workers clashed with West Bengal Police. BJP blamed Mamata Banerjee's TMC for the death and labelled the police as TMC men in 'uniform'.

BJP youth wing president Tejasvi Surya also shared visuals of the action against party workers by West Bengal police and slammed the state government for the act.

However, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said at a public meeting in Siliguri. "I have seen the post-mortem report (of the BJP worker who died yesterday). As per the report, death was due to shotgun injuries but the police don't use shotguns." 

Her fresh attack on the BJP came even as the party on Tuesday, called a 12-hour bandh in the state to protest against the alleged killing of a senior party worker in Siliguri on Monday.
