The Enforcement Directorate (ED) let off Bineesh Kodiyeri after interrogating him for six hours in connection with the Bengaluru drug case
Bengaluru: Bineesh Kodiyeri may not have a clean chit yet in the Bengaluru drug case. The Enforcement Directorate said that Bineesh would be asked to come in again for questioning if required.
After six hours of interrogation, Bineesh Kodiyeri was let off by the Enforcement Directorate. Interrogation commenced at the ED office in Shanti Nagar in Bengaluru on Tuesday at 11 in the morning. Bineesh reached the office by 10:45am and was taken to the chamber of assistant director Somasekhara, where he was quizzed.
Bineesh Kodiyeri was questioned over charges of his links with Mohammed Anoop, an accused in the Bengaluru drug case. Anoop who was arrested on August 24 informed the investigating team that Bineesh gave him money to set up business in Bengaluru. It has to be noted, however, that the investigating team has not established any drug links between Bineesh and Anoop.
According to reports, Bineesh and Mohammed Anoop were in touch 78 times between May 31 and August 19. The report added that Anoop informed the investigators that Kodiyeri had loaned him Rs 50 lakh to start a restaurant in Bengaluru.
