A middle-aged man from Birbhum has been arrested on charges of spreading communal hatred on Facebook. According to police sources, the man has connection with militant organization.

A middle-aged man has been arrested on charges of spreading communal hatred on Facebook. 

The name of the arrested person is Najibullah. He is 50 years old. The man belongs from Kashimnagar village of Paikar police station in Birbhum.

Police from the Special Tax Force from Kolkata arrested him from his home on Thursday (December 10) night. According to police sources, the arrested person opened a Facebook account in the name of Shakib Ali and spread communal and anti-Muslim hatred. 

At the same time, he was inspiring the youth on social media to follow the path of fundamentalism. The arrested person has a printing press. Several radical literature and books have been recovered from his printing press. The printer's computer device was reportedly confiscated.

Najibullah used to run a printing press in the village mosque along with some Maulubis. The wife and neighbors of Najibullah refused to admit that Najibullah was associated with the militant organization. 

Najibullah’s wife Mumtaz said, "Our family survives because my husband runs a printing press." My husband did not do anything wrong. The police arrested him unnecessarily. He is a very good person. He has no connection with the militant organization. The police took him away at night and told me that he will be produced to the court.”
