BJP leaders Sovan Chatterjee and Baisakhi Banerjee were shown black flags in Behala. The BJP's Kolkata zone meeting was held at the Rabindranath Nagar bus stand in Behala on Sunday (February 28) afternoon. Sovan Chatterjee and Baisakhi Banerjee were shown black flags when they were heading to join the meeting.

Sovan and Baishakhi also faced protests from locals along with black flags, songs and slogans. Sovan Chatterjee's car was stuck for a long time in front of his own assembly constituency Behala.

The BJP alleges that Shovon Chattopadhyay and his girlfriend Baishakhi Banerjee were repeatedly obstructed on their way to the meeting. Later, the BJP leaders reached the meeting place with the help of security guards.

In this incident, the BJP has raised the finger of blame against the ruling party Trinamool. The Trinamool, however, dismissed the allegations. It is to be mentioned that the Trinamool was accused of tearing the flex of Baisakhi Bandyopadhyay in Behala on Sunday (February 28) afternoon. BJP alleges that Sovan's wife Ratna Chatterjee is behind this incident.

Again, in the evening a large section of locals gathered at Padmapukur in Behala East and started waving black flags when the car of the BJP leaders was passing through the area. The BJP, however, has lodged a complaint with the Behala police station.

Trinamool Congress leader and Sovan Chatterjee’s wife Ratna Chatterjee said: "We do not have any grudge against Sovan Chatterjee. I do not know who has done it, but there is nothing unfair if Baisakhi's banners were torn because she is only responsible for Sovan Chatterjee's face loss."

On February 6 the BJP leaders were shown black flags, brooms and shoes by people, mostly women, during their roadshow at Maheshtala in South 24-Parganas.
