3-day Bengaluru tech summit begins today
India’s premier tech summit to kickstart today. This would be a global stage for innovation and using technology to give innovators scope to flourish.The three-day summit will provide a platform to encourage discussion on disruptive technologies.
FollowBengaluru: Bengaluru tech summit 2019, touted as the largest technology summit in India kickstarted here on Monday. An initiative organised by the Karnataka government, the summit is in its flagship 22nd edition and is a global stage for innovation and using technology to give innovators scope to flourish, officials said.
The three-day summit will provide a platform to encourage discussion on disruptive technologies. There are four-track sessions: Smart IT, Smart BIO, Global innovation Alliances and Impact. It also features multi-track conferences, an international exhibition, global innovation alliances, robo- recharge, workshops, products’ launch, makers zone and bio- posters. Chief minister BS Yediyurappa will be inaugurating the summit.
The premier summit will focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI), impact of Blockchain and IoT, cyber security, space and drone revolutions, electric vehicles, 5G, genomics, trends in agriculture, smart therapeutics, biotherapeutics and smart immunologics in cancer care.
Deputy chief minister and minister for IT, BT and S&T, C N Ashwath Narayan was quoted as saying that the tech summit will see over 250 exhibitors, 3,000 delegates, 200 speakers, 34 panel discussions, 12,000 visitors. Delegates from 20 countries are visiting and separate panel discussions for women entrepreneurs to highlight the role of women in tech space will be held, he further said.
EV Ramana Reddy, additional chief secretary, Department of IT, BT and S&T said, “Our vision is to transform the country’s economy through innovation which is the focus of the summit. Bengaluru Tech Summit 2019 will have eminent personalities deliberating on thought leadership, innovators presenting path breaking ideas while expert speakers will give insights into the latest industry trends and future opportunities.”
“We are expecting participation from across the country. In order to ensure effective IT penetration throughout the State, we are also organising a TCS IT Quiz and a Biotechnology Quiz with focus on innovation. Bengaluru Tech Summit is basically a platform that encourages innovation in disruptive technologies,” he said.
Some of the highlights of the summit will include TCS IT Quiz, BT Quiz, Thought Leaders Conclave, STPI IT Export Awards and Smart Bio Awards.
