Which boyhood club does Cristiano Ronaldo want to end his career with?

Portuguese football sensation Cristiano Ronaldo has made a name for himself by playing at three top European clubs. Meanwhile, he is reportedly looking out of his current club Juventus and is eyeing a return to his boyhood club. But, where would he end his career?

Cristiano Ronaldo is a Portuguese football sensation who is serving Italian champion Juventus. However, his future with the club continues to be doubtful.

Despite having helped the side attain domestic success, he has failed to steer the side to European glory. Furthermore, with Juventus staring at a title drought in the ongoing season, Ronaldo is seemingly considering a move away from Turin.

As of now, it is unclear as to where he could go next, with a return to either Real Madrid or Manchester United on the cards, alongside a fresh challenge in Paris Saint-Germain. However, it seems like he may have decided where he would end his career.

According to a report by Record, Ronaldo could possibly end his career at his childhood club. As for the club, it happens to be Sporting Lisbon, where he began his competitive and senior football career.

Ronaldo played 33 senior games for the side, scoring just five goals before Sir Alex Ferguson flew him in to United for £12.24 million in 2003. He also won the Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira title in Lisbon.

Lisbon is currently at the top of the Primeira Liga table and looks like a favourite to play the UEFA Champions League next season. However, it is unsure if Ronaldo would join Lisbon right away or wait for a few years.

Furthermore, it should also be noted that Lisbon might not actually be able to afford Ronaldo's heavy wages and he might have to take a pay cut. Nevertheless, it should not come as a surprise if he agrees to do so, as most club veterans and alumni do so upon returning to their childhood club for their final year/s.
