Chhattrasal Stadium murder case: Non-bailable warrant issued against wrestler Sushil Kumar by Delhi court
Sushil Kumar is an Indian wrestler who has represented the nation in the Olympics, while he is also a seven-time gold-medalist and national champion on multiple occasions. However, his recent alleged involvement in a murder case has the fraternity talking.
Indian wrestler Sushil Kumar continues to get deeper in the recent Chhattrasal Stadium murder case. Following the death of a junior wrestler in a brawl inside the stadium a couple of weeks back, Sushil is the biggest name that has allegedly emerged in the same.
Since then, Sushil has been absconding, while Delhi Police issued a lookout notice for him last week. However, in a fresh update on the same, the Delhi court has issued a non-bailable warrant against the Olympian on Saturday, which could spell more trouble for him.
"Since Kumar was untraceable, the Delhi Police on Saturday approached the local court to get an NBW issued, and it was approved," a source was quoted as saying to IANS. Sushil is the Officer on Special Duty at the venue where the brawl took place while currently employed at Indian Railways.
Sagar Dhankar (23) was a Greco Roman wrestler, killed after some wrestlers allegedly beat him up at the venue. He hailed from Sonepat and was training at the venue since 2014.
"He represented India in several sub-junior and junior international events. For the past two years, Dhankar wasn't competing in tournaments as he was injured," a wrestling coach had said about him.
