The reasons why people are prone to dark circles could range from something as simple as not getting enough sleep to hereditary.

Here are some simple home remedies to get rid of dark circles.

Honey: Antioxidant-rich honey is a good alternative to get rid of dark circles.  Apply a thin layer of honey, preferably organic. Let it stay for 10-15 mins, and then wash off.

Turmeric: The presence of the powerful curcumin not only refreshes and rejuvenates tired eyes but is super useful in lightening dark circles. There are many methods involved in using turmeric. One can add pineapple juice, lemon juice, pudina or yogurt. Add some gram flour, some turmeric, a dash of juice of your choice. And let it dry. And then remove it with water.

Coconut Oil: Another popular and great ingredient that is found in almost all south Indian kitchens. The versatility of coconut oil is unparalleled. Apply virgin coconut oil regularly and watch the dark circles fade away.

Almond oil: Rich in Vitamin E oil, almond oil is highly recommended.  Before you sleep, apply some almond oil, and massage gently. Rinse the next day with cold water.

Vaseline: Yes, Vaseline, too, can be used to lighten and get rid of dark circles. Add a drop of lemon juice to the Vaseline and apply under the eye.  Let it sit there for about 45 minutes, and then gently rinse with cold water.
