West Bengal: Intoxicated son sleeps peacefully in room after killing father

The boy allegedly killed his 60-year-old father when he was intoxicated. After allegedly killing his father, the boy took a long nap in a room. It is known that Raja Das, a resident of Tangra, is quite educated. He worked even before graduating with a degree in Commerce. But he has been unemployed for some time. On the other hand, his father, Babu Das used to work in a leather complex. Lately, however, he had been working on repairing pressure cookers.
Recently, the father started having tiffs with his son over money. The tiff between father and son in the lockdown increased. Almost every day the boy would return home drunk. Babu would scold his son over this issue.
On September 7 morning, neighbours saw Babu Das lying on the veranda. There was a blood clot near his nose. The son, Raja Das, was sound asleep in the room. Neighbours suspected foul play after they found that Babu Das was not responding. They immediately informed police.
Police have recovered the body and arrested the accused. They are hoping to obtain the real truth upon interrogation of Raja Das.
A terrible incident, similarly, took place in the heart of Bengal in June 2020. On the eve of Father’s Day, a drunk father was allegedly killed by his son because he was asked to give money for alcohol. The name of the deceased is Bidhan Ghosh. According to sources, Bidhan often beat his wife and sons while intoxicated. That day was no exception. He started torturing his wife China Ghosh for money while he was drunk. The boy rushed towards his mother with a stick and tried to stop his father from beating her. Bidhan Ghosh's throat was allegedly cut in a scuffle. He died on the spot.
