The IMD has issued a yellow alert for 13 districts in Jharkhand, including Ranchi. The cold's impact will be visible from Jan 13. Ranchi may face a biting chill and cold day conditions. Low visibility in the morning could affect traffic.

Cold in Ranchi affects schools, timings changed

Due to the severe cold, the Ranchi DC has made a big decision. Schools from KG to Class 6 will be closed from January 12 to 14. Classes for 7 to 12 will start at 10 AM. The final decision on exams is left to school management. Parents are urged to dress kids warmly and keep them away from fires.
