Kolkata Weather LATEST update: Temperature FALLS this much; Winter chills back in city

Kolkata has finally embraced a chilly spell, with temperatures plummeting to 13.8°C. The maximum temperature recorded yesterday was 23.2°C, signaling a brisk winter. Districts in the western region, including Purulia and Bankura, see temperatures drop further to a frosty 10-12°C. 

Fog dominates the early hours, particularly in North Bengal. Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Cooch Behar, and North Dinajpur face reduced visibility, sometimes below 50 meters. This could disrupt road and air travel. Similar conditions are expected in South Dinajpur and Malda

While sunny skies and dry weather prevail during the day, mornings will see fog across both urban and rural regions of Bengal. The Alipore Meteorological Department predicts this cold wave and foggy pattern to continue till Sunday, adding to the charm of winter mornings
