Chittaranjan Hospital in Kolkata launches a new hub for advanced healthcare of mother and babies
On Monday (February 15), West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee inaugurated a 100-bed Mother and Child Hub at Chittaranjan Seva Sadan Hospital. This project has been named ‘Matri Ma’.
FollowThe Government of West Bengal is trying to set up this Mother and Child Hub in various hospitals with the aim of providing better medical services to mothers and newborns.
While inaugurating the Mother and Child Hub at Chittaranjan Seva Sadan at 11:30 am on Monday, the Chief Minister said, "Matri Ma is launched a day before Saraswati puja. With this, 18 Matri Ma were made all over Bengal. 303 SNCUs have been created where sick newborns are treated up to 28 days of age.”
“The quality of hospitals in the state of West Bengal has already improved a lot. 43 multi super speciality hospitals have been set up. If you go to any government hospital, you will feel that you are in one of the best hospitals in the world,” she added.
It is to be mentioned that the building for ‘Matri Ma’ was constructed at Chittaranjan Seva Sadan at a cost of Rs 24 crore 9 lakhs. This Mother and Child Hub has a 100-bed maternity ward.
In addition to the state-of-the-art operating theater, there are neonatal intensive care units or NICUs, sick neonatal service units or SNCUs and hybrid intensive care units.
Speaking at the inaugural function, the Chief Minister further said, “The best health system in India is in Bengal. Free food, free health, and free education, the state has it all. There can be nothing better than this.”
It may be mentioned that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will inaugurate the hospital based cancer registry application and new renovation and renovation of DN Dey Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital from Nabanna (state secretariat) at 3.30 pm on the same day.
