When Rekha was asked, "Did you love Amitabh Bachchan?" Here's what she said

Bollywood lovers will know about the famous love affair of Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha. In the 70s, Amitabh name was being allegedly linked with his co-stars and especially Rekha.

Rekha and Big B were once rumoured to be in love, despite being married to Jaya Bachchan. There were many stories of their affair coming out in the media.

Gossip columns and magazines were buzzing with their stories and pictures. Today, we got our hands on one of the oldest interviews of Rekha, where she talked about her feeling for Big B. In the interview, she spoke candidly about her personal life.

In a popular chat show of actress Simi Garewal, Rekha had accepted her love for him. When Simi had asked the Umrao Jaan actress, "Did Rekha love Amitabh?"

To which, Rekha had said, "Absolutely! Duh, that's a dumb question!"

And then Rekha went on to explaining that statement, "I'm yet to come across a man, woman, child, who can't help but fall completely, passionately, insanely, desperately and especially, hopelessly, in love with him. So why should I be singled out?"

In an interview with Stardust magazine, the Utsav actress had shared an incident from her life. Rekha talked about an award function, "At an award function some time ago, I’d recited a few lines. Everyone imagined they were meant for him, but actually, it was for Jaya."

Rekha had read the same lines and had said, "I looked at you, you turned your face away. Why? You feel you are badly off, but can’t you see my position is worse? There is deep hurt in your gaze, but can’t you see that the wounds in my heart are deeper than your look?"
