Mallika Sherawat recently spoke about her horrifying experience of facing the casting couch in the film industry.
Mallika Sherawat grew to popularity with movies like Murder and Welcome. The actress mainly chose bold roles and was one of the most popular actresses. She was recently seen in Nakaab, and in an interview with Pinkvilla, she spoke about how men tried to take liberties from her because of her bold image.
Mallika said that she had not faced the casting couch directly. But with the rise in her stardom, she was fortunate, and it was easy with films like Murder and Khwahish.
But after the movie was released, and it was primarily bold. Many male actors started taking a lot of liberties with her. Some even said that if she can be bold onscreen, why she cant be bold in person.
She further revealed that they did not differentiate between the onscreen and offscreen. In another experience, she said that women deliberately put themselves in such situations and she made sure not to attend parties where they could be take advantage of her.
She even continued that she has deliberately stayed away from such people in the industry who have given her bad vibes. She did not go to Bollywood parties, nor did she meet any Bollywood producer in a hotel room or at night in the office. She maintained a distance and worked hard for her career.
The actress also stood steadfast to the thought that she had come to Bollywood to make a career and not compromise. She always knew that she would get the desired roles, but she did not to make any adjustments or compromises that she was not comfortable with.
