After two years of rigorous research, Aamir has decided to call off the project. When Mahabharat was announced, there was no doubt that it would be grand and massive project. However, Aamir has taken a step back from his dream project.
A report in Bollywood Hungama suggests that Aamir realised that he cant afford to take two years off-camera and delve himself into this project.
The fear of people taking objections over the show or any such religious matters is also a matter of concern to him.
Hence to avoid the controversy he has decided to call this project off. In an interview, Aamir had denied plans of making Mahabharat. He said that he had never announced the film. People assumed it and he does not want to respond to the speculation.
Reports say he had also passed on his role to play the character of Rakesh Sharma to Shah Rukh Khan for Mahabharat. Reports say that Aamir was going to play the role of Krishna in Mahabharat.
