A R Rahman to lend his musical chords for upcoming tank-war film Pippa
Academy Award-winner A.R. Rahman to score the music for upcoming tank-war film Pippa read details.
RSVP and Roy Films have come together to announce the involvement of Oscar-winning maestro AR Rahman. The music composer and singer will be scoring the music for the upcoming film Pippa directed by Raja Krishna Menon and starring Ishaan Khattar, Mrunal Thakur, and Priyanshu Painyuli.
The tank-war film Pippa is based on the book 'The Burning Chaffess' written by Balram Singh Mehta.
The film's highlight would be the extraordinary Russian amphibious war tank called PT-76, popularly known as Pippa. That means an empty ghee da dabba that smoothly floats on the water that would be the crux of the film.
Rahman has collaborated with Ronnie and Siddharth in the past for albums such as Swades, Rang De Basanti, Jodhaa Akbar, and Delhi-6, etc. Producer Ronnie Screwvala said, "AR Rahman's forte is patriotic and inspiring music. We are happy to welcome him on board. Collaborating with him has always been fruitful and resulted in amazing albums. I believe the music would be the heart of our film."
Producer Sidharth Roy believes that "His music taste offers depyt and feeling to the narrative of the film. We are truly thrilled to have him on board. He is the best musical talent we could ask for. This film's album would be truly iconic." The director of the film, Raja Krishna Menon, says, “It is an honour to work with A.R. Rahman on the album of Pippa. I'm very eager to collaborate with the maestro and we hope to create something truly memorable together.”
Adding to this A R Rahman says,"The story has a very human connect and I am very excited and looking forward to working with Raja Krishna Menon, Ronnie Screwvala, and Siddharth Roy Kapur." Pippa, produced by RSVP and Roy Kapur Films, will hit theatres in late 2021.
