The next Pro iPhones from Apple are beginning to resemble a true upgrade rather than just an annual update. Although Apple has not yet confirmed it, September 9 has been suggested as a potential launch date for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. A faster 2nm A20 Pro processor, a larger battery, a new internal modem, and some intriguing camera modifications are reportedly included in the upcoming Pro variants. Better satellite communication and a smaller Dynamic Island are also possible. Naturally, all of this is still predicated on hearsay and leaks. However, the iPhone 18 Pro would be a far more intriguing improvement than the iPhone 17 Pro if even some of these rumours are true.
A20 Pro Chip To Increase Price
Instead of being on the phone, one of the biggest improvements could be found within. Rumour has it that Apple's first smartphone processor made using TSMC's 2nm technology will be the A20 Pro. Weibo tipster Fixed Focus Digital claims that the processor might use up to 30% less power and be around 18% quicker than the A19 Pro. Additionally, TSMC's more recent Gate-All-Around technology is anticipated to be used in the chip.
If those figures are accurate, Apple may be able to accommodate more demanding tasks like gaming and on-device AI with the A20 Pro without making the iPhone a battery-hungry gadget. According to reports, the total bill of materials for the iPhone 18 Pro may increase dramatically, and the A20 Pro may cost more to produce.
