Ruckus and commotion in the Parliament are common and if often starts with the Opposition leader. But in Spain's Andalusian Parliament, a rat made the leaders take cover or get on their chairs. The incident occurred while the member of the Parliament was about to vote on whether Susana Diaz, the previous regional president, should be made senator for the region.

Regional Speaker Marta Bosquet, who was speaking at the podium, noticed a rodent and covered her mouth with her hands in shock. Witnessing the reaction, MPs started stirring and moving away from their seats. According to various media reports, the Andalusian Parliament was forced to temporarily suspend its session.

Members tried to corner the rat for several minutes as the parliament session dissolved into mayhem.  Juan Marin, the vice president of the organisation, was finally able to capture the rat and removed it from the room amid laughter from colleagues.  Once the rat was expelled, parliament proceedings resumed as normal.
