The Kaminey star took to Twitter to introduce his Punjabi rockstar character Tommy Singh in the film, based on the substance abuse in Punjab.
Directed by Abhishek Chaubey, the film also stars Kareena Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Prabhjyot Singh and Diljit Dosanjh.
Udta Punjab releases on June 17.
