60-year-old Velu and Shirley, 35 united in wedlock during the preview show of Velu Prabhakaran’s Oru Iyakkunarin Kadhal Diary at a theatre in Chennai. Shirley wore blood red sari with golden border paired up with simple gold jhumkas to go with the look. Whereas, Velu wore a simple white shirt and traditional South Indian outfit for the wedding. Shirley Das was Prabhakaran’s heroine in Kadhal Arangam and had grabbed headlines because of her nude and seminude scenes then.Â

According to the reports, the couple claimed that they had been friends for 15 years before they decided to tie the knot. Reportedly, it was Shirley and Prabhakaran's wish to get hitched in the presence of the media, and that the couple will soon legally register their marriage.  We’re sure a lot of people are shocked by this sudden news.
