Actor Irrfan Khan has been admitted to Mumbai's Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. The actor's health suddenly deteriorated as a result of which he required immediate medical attention. The main reason for his admission is still unknown.

The 53-year-old actor has been admitted to the hospital's ICU, according to a report in aajtak.in. His wife Sutapa Sikdar and two sons are with him.

Last week, his mother Saeeda Begum, 80, passed away, as she was suffering from various age-related ailments for long, said family sources.

Irrfan Khan is diagnosed with neuroendocrine tumour. He was in London for treatment. In September 2019, Irrfan returned to Mumbai after undergoing a successful surgery post his shoot for Angrezi Medium in London. 

According to the report, post his cancer treatment, this is the first time where the health of the actor has deteriorated. A person close to Irrfan told Navbharat Times that due to coronavirus outbreak Irrfan's usual treatment wasn't going on easily and therefore he has been admitted to the hospital.
