Versatile actor Sreenivasan is a great champion of organic farming, traditional paddy cultivation and unique fish farming. The actor will soon be selling power to public sector Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB)! The role-reversal, from consumer to producer of electricity, was accomplished after the actor installed massive rooftop solar panels in his certified green home in outskirts of Kochi city.
The other day, Sreenivasan signed a memorandum with KSEB to sell surplus energy from his solar power plant. The solar panels kept on the roof top of his residence is likely to generate 40 kilo watts of electricity. The surplus energy after the domestic needs would be purchased by the KSEB.
The actor's house at Kandanadu near Tripunithura in Ernakulum holds the platinum grade recognition from Indian Green Building Council for being Kerala's first eco friendly house. Built at a cost of Rs. 2 crores, it has facilities for rain water harvesting, a water recycling plant and a vast area dedicated to vegetable farming.
