Mani Ratnam:

Ratnam's previous film "OK Kanmani" was a contemporary romance-drama centred on live-in relationships, "Kaatru Veliyidai" is a period film in the backdrop of the Indian Air Force.

Stunning camera work by ace cinematography Ravi Varman, who will take you on a journey of visual ecstasy. According to a report, the song and a few action scenes were shot in Kashmir and Ladakh.  

 

 

Locations:
According to the reports, a Major portion of the movie shot in Kashmir, and some key scenes filmed in Ladakh. It'll be the second time Mani will be shooting in Ladakh after Dil Se. Parts of the movie has also been filmed in scenic locations of Nilgiris and Ooty.  

 

Karthi:
Kaatru Veliyidai comes as a fresh breath of air for the actor. In this movie, Karthi's fans will see his romantic side; previously he was seen doing comedy and action films. This time he will be seen in a clean-shaven avatar. Fans have loved his latest look moustache-less get up in the movie.

 

 

Aditi Rao Hydari:
The actress reportedly learnt Tamil so the dialogues would flow beautifully, like any other Mani Ratnam film. In an interview, she said, “I tried to grasp the nuances of the language so I could effortlessly internalise Mani sir’s instructions. I didn’t want the language to be a barrier even on that level. It was challenging.” Actresses in Mani Ratnam's films are not restricted to dancing around the trees with their heroes here female leads get substantial roles in his movies. If you have a look at the teaser carefully, Aditi will remind you of Manisha Koirala in the film Dil Se. In the movie, Manisha has a dark side behind her beautiful and innocent smile.  

 

AR Rahman
