Riding high on expectations, Mohanlal's '1971: Beyond Borders' has hit the screens all over the world today.

Directed by Major Ravi, 'Beyond Borders' is set in two time periods and is primarily based on the 1971 Indo-Pak war. The film has Mohanlal appearing in dual roles - one as popular character Major Mahadevan and the other as his father Major Sahadevan.

'1971: Beyond Borders' released on over 200 screens in Kerala, and a record 405 screens across India. Mohanlal has enjoyed back-to-back hits with his last three Malayalam releases 'Oppam', 'Pulimurugan' and 'Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol' raking in the moolah at the box office, which has helped build the hype surrounding '1971: Beyond Borders'.
