Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday targeted incumbent Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and said that the people of Bengal have decided that Didi must go.

Addressing a poll rally in Bengal's Uluberia, PM Modi said, “People of Bengal have decided -- Didi must go. People of Nandigram have fulfilled this dream today. People can't wait any longer to save their future and identity. They are not just participating in polling, they are paving the way for renaissance in Bengal.”

"What happened in Nandigram some time ago, we all saw that Mamata Banerjee has given up. The nomination date for the last phase of voting still remains. Is it true that you (Mamata Banerjee) are going to quietly file nomination from one seat," said Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Further taunting Bengal CM, PM Modi at Uluberia rally asked, "Didi, is there any truth in the rumour that you are going to file nomination from another constituency? First you went there (Nandigram), and people gave you an answer. If you go somewhere else, people of Bengal are ready."

However, responding after PM Modi said rumours are there that Didi is going to file nomination from another seat, TMC sources said, "The question of Mamata Banerjee (West Bengal CM) fighting from any other seat does not arise. She is winning Nandigram comfortably."

PM Modi also said that the BJP government is going to be formed in West Bengal as nobody can save Didi from peoples' anger.

PM Modi praised the people of Nandigram, the constituency which has been the highlight of the entire West Bengal elections since the heavyweights Suvendu Adhikari of BJP and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee have contested from Nandigram.

Earlier in the day while the polling was underway, Mamata Banerjee reportedly filed an FIR alleging poll rigging and she also dialled governor Jagdeep Dhankhar to complain about the alleged poll rigging and "breakdown of law and order". Moreover, the TMC has also lodged a complaint to the Election Commission alleging that the CRPF which has been deployed to provide security, is colluding with the BJP against the TMC in the Assembly elections.
