Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing a public rally in Tamil Nadu's Kanyakumari, tore into the Opposition and said it has reduced itself to a dynasty club.

“While our focus is development, the opposition has reduced itself to a dynasty club. All they want is to secure the position of their own children and grandchildren. They are not bothered about your sons and daughter,” said PM Modi at Kanyakumari rally.

Having Congress in any coalition is having a high-handed ally who does not understand local sensibilities, said PM Modi.

"The Opposition loves calling people anti-democratic. But, they should see the nearest mirror. Congress has imposed Article 356 several times. Both DMK and AIADMK governments have been dismissed by Congress." he added.

Taking a jibe at DMK, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the mood of the nation today is "clearly against politics of nepotism and entitlement".

“We come with a strong track record of pro-people, pro-active good governance. We've fixed long pending issues and found out of the box solutions to pressing problems,” he added.

“Rameshwaram-Dhanushkodi railway line was damaged in 1964. In 50 years, no one thought of repairing it. It was our govt that started work on creating a new railway line. Pamban Railway Bridge was also ignored by previous govts. We focused on reconstructing it,”Prime Minister Modi said.

“In this year's budget, we've given emphasis on the Mumbai-Kanyakumari economic corridor. Rs 1 lakh crore would be spent on upgrading road and connectivity related infra in Tamil Nadu.”

The safety of fishermen is NDA's priority. “Just a few days ago, we ensured the release of fishermen from Sri Lanka, this includes 40 fishermen and 4 boats from Tamil Nadu. Currently, no Indian fishermen in Srilankan custody,” he said.

“Our ideology is sab ka saath, sab ka vikaas and sab ka viswaas as a root of this mantra, is a spirit of compassion towards everyone.”

The Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu will be held in a single phase on April 6 and the counting of votes will take place on May 2.
