Kerala was shocked after a counselling session in a school revealed the story of a girl being gang-raped during lockdown from April. Police have arrested three UP migrant workers.

The port City of Kerala, Cochin shocked the state with the arrest of three Uttar Pradesh migrants after a girl during a counselling session in school stated that she was gang-raped when she was alone at home.

The alleged gang rape began during the initial lockdown days at her house when she was alone. The people residing next to her house, realising she was alone, allegedly took advantage. After the incident, the accused sexual predators threatened the girl and allegedly took her to the workers’ rented accommodation in other areas where she was raped multiple times.

Reportedly, teachers noticed the strange behaviour of the girl and when she was questioned, she revealed her ordeal.

Based on her statement, a complaint was registered, and police arrested three UP migrants and are in search of others who are said to have gone into hiding.

The arrested are identified as Shahid, Farhad Khan, and Haneef, who have been remanded to custody after police booked them under relevant sections of the IPC.
