Mumbai: After an incident of assault and murder of a wife over serving cold tea, cooking non-vegetarian food, now a young wife's head was smashed by an Indian husband for adding less salt in food.

The incident happened at Bhendi Bazaar junction in south Mumbai on Friday night (August 14) and the accused was identified as Abdul Rahman Shaikh Ansari, 28, and the victim was Nusrat alias Simran, 25.

The couple lived on a footpath in a makeshift tent. The woman served dal and rice to Ansari. However, over salt being not adequate, he beat up Simran and later banged her head on a road divider.

The profusely bleeding victim was rushed to the state-run JJ Hospital. However, upon arrival, she was declared brought dead.

A case under IPC section 302 for murder has been registered and the accused has been arrested.
