Karnataka: Attempt to murder studio owner; Three held, one escapes

Bantwal: The back to back murders in Bantwal has got many residents furious in the last few weeks. After the murder of many rowdy sheeters, a studio owner was attacked by a gang of four on Wednesday.

In an attempt to murder the owner of Trisha Studio at Bantwal, by a gang of four youngsters, three men have been held and one has escaped. The hunt for the other is on. The studio owner was attacked with a sabre.

The three men have been identified as Mohammed Arshad (19) Abdul Rehman (22) and Mohammed Saifuddin (22).

It is reported that the four young men visited the photo studio of Dinesh at 7:15 pm on October 28 in the guise of customers who wanted to be photographed.

Reportedly, one among them suddenly attacked Dinesh with a sabre, expressing anger at the fact that Dinesh had supported the family of a female child relating to a case of sexual harassment of the child recently.

Dinesh suffered injuries to his head, right hand, and left side of the abdomen in this brutal attack.

A person named Shekhar Poojary, who was at the studio then, picked a chair there in a flash and smashed it on the attackers to shield Dinesh.

An attempt to murder case has been filed in Bantwal rural police station in this respect.

A police team led by police sub-inspector Prasanna and others, working under the guidance of Dakshina Kannada district superintendent of police and deputy superintendent of police at Bantwal, arrested three among them.
