Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police on Friday (November 29) arrested four persons accused in the alleged rape and murder of a woman veterinary doctor in Telangana. The accused are a lorry driver and cleaners, police sources said.

Police have not confirmed whether the doctor was kidnapped and gangraped. But police believe that the lorry driver named Mohammad Pasha is the main suspect. Another driver Naveen, two assistants, were also arrested.

Police suspect the assailants had punctured the tyre of the vehicle belonging to the victim and kidnapped her on the pretext of helping her repair the tyre. They later took her to another location, between parked trucks, where she was allegedly raped and killed.

A burnt body was found on Thursday (November 28) at Shadnagar outskirts in Telangana's Ranga Reddy district. The body was later identified as that of Priyanka Reddy, a veterinary doctor. Preliminary evidence suggests that the victim was sexually assaulted.
