The Indians have a grave task at hand as they battle New Zealand in the final of the ICC World Test Championship in Southampton from June 18 to determine the king of Test cricket. Ahead of the same, they have begun their preparations in full swing.

On Thursday morning, the Board of Control for Cricket in India shared a video of the Indians indulging in their first group training session at the venue. Along with his boys, Skipper Virat Kohli sweated it out in the session, indulging in all the training regimes. "We have had our first group training session and the intensity was high🔥 #TeamIndia's 🇮🇳 preparations are on in full swing for the #WTC21 Final 🙌", read the captioned video.

All the players underwent regular testing and were cleared before taking the field on Wednesday for the first group training session. Players like Rishabh Pant, Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma, Ravichandran Ashwin, Cheteshwar Pujara, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Siraj and Shubman Gill sweat it out in the nets, involving in batting, bowling and fielding drills.

The Indians have been in Southampton since June 3 and underwent a mandatory seven-day quarantine, during which the first three days were rigid quarantine. They were allowed to train individually for the next four days, with three players per day.
