Chris Gayle happens to be the greatest player to have ever played T20 cricket. Meanwhile, he has seemingly hinted at international retirement during the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 clash against Australia in the Super 12.
Legendary Windies cricketer Chris Gayle happens to be one of the most incredible batters in the sport, especially in limited-overs contests, known for his furious ability to strike the ball clean and out of the park on most occasions. The Jamaican has made a name for himself, especially in Twenty20 (T20) cricket, as he possesses the record of scoring the most runs in the format, along with most sixes, highest score and many more.

He is currently representing the Windies in the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup, being held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). However, the defending champion has already been knocked out of the race for the semi-finals, while the 'Universe Boss' has managed to score just 45 runs in five innings at a poor average of 9.00 and a strike rate of 91.83.

As he played Windies's last game of the Super 12 stage against Australia at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, he managed to score just 15 runs out of nine deliveries before being cleaned up by pacer Pat Cummins. Following his dismissal, as he walked back to the dressing room, he raised his bat towards the crowd that gave him a standing ovation, besides pumping fist his teammates, hugging them, and waving at the camera too.

Although Gayle has not officially announced his retirement yet, it seems like a matter of time before he does so and joins his all-rounder teammate Dwayne Bravo, who had done the same in the last game, following Windies's loss to Sri Lanka. Also, renowned commentator Lisa Sthalekar took to Twitter to thank the Jamaican.
