Rajasthan Royals would be without the English duo of wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler and all-rounder Ben Stokes during the Indian Premier League 2021 resumption in the United Arab Emirates. While Buttler would miss out due to the birth of his second child, Stokes is on an indefinite break from cricket due to mental health reasons.

Meanwhile, RR has roped in his replacements in the form of Windies duo Evin Lewis and pacer Oshane Thomas, reports ESPNcricinfo. Lewis is on a roll, as he is currently Windies's fifth-highest run-scorer in Twenty20 Internationals.

He has also slammed the second most sixes in the format for the side (103) after Chris Gayle (121). It would be his second stint in the IPL, having previously played for Mumbai Indians between 2018-19.

Thomas, too, would be playing in the IPL in his second spell. He previously played for the same side in 2019, claiming five in four games at an economy of 7.90. He is known for his consistent ability to bowl at a pace of 140 kmph.

RR is also without its prominent English pacer Jofra Archer, who continues to nurse and recover from his elbow and finger injury, having recently undergone surgery. The damage has troubled him for quite some time now, and he does not wish to return until gaining full fitness, eyeing a successful outing during the Ashes later this year. As a result, the side has roped in New Zealand wicketkeeper-batsman Glenn Phillips as his replacement.

Meanwhile, RR has been moderate in the India leg of IPL 2021. Currently placed fifth in the table, it would be aiming the playoffs with some consistent performances under Sanju Samson's captaincy.
