With just a week to go before the Indian Premier League 2021 gets restarted again in the United Arab Emirates, the franchises have already gotten preparations underway in full flow. However, it seems like the tournament would occur without most of the top English players.

Rajasthan Royals' wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler had already pulled out, citing bubble fatigue, focusing on ICC World T20 next month and the Ashes later this year. Also, the side would be without pacer Jofra Archer (injured) and all-rounder Ben Stokes (mental health break).

Meanwhile, ESPNCricinfo reports that three more Englishmen, Jonny Bairstow, Chris Woakes and Dawid Malan, have joined the other three of their English teammates in the pullout list. As for Malan, he has been replaced by Aiden Markram for Punjab Kings, while Sherfane Rutherford will replace Bairstow for Sunrisers Hyderabad.

In the meantime, English players Moeen Ali, Sam Billings, Sam Curran, Tom Curran, George Garton, Eoin Morgan, Chris Jordan, Adil Rashid, Liam Livingstone and Jason Roy are expected to fly to UAE on Sunday for the IPL. However, they will have to undergo a six-day quarantine upon arrival.

It is also being reported that the quarantine factor in UAE is also something that led to India calling off the fifth Test in Manchester. At the same time, physio Yogesh Parmar's COVID positive case is the primary factor in it.

However, the Indian players have tested negative and have already begun flying out to the gulf. Defending champion Mumbai Indians became the first to fly out its players through a charter flight, as skipper Rohit Sharma, pacer Jasprit Bumrah and Suryakumar Yadav have landed in Abu Dhabi.
