With just over a week before the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) starts off in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), excitement is at an all-time high, owing to the fact that this would only be the third time when the tournament would be held overseas. Furthermore, with no spectators expected inside the venues, the tournament would be a television treat for most of the fans.

As for the three venues in UAE (Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah), most of the matches would be held in Dubai, owing to its better facilities and maximum seating capacity. However, the iconic venue of Sharjah would also host quite a few matches, having previously done so in 2014. In the same light, let us have a look at some of the IPL records from this venue.
