This will be the second time when an entire edition of the IPL would be held overseas, after South Africa in 2009. Sharjah will host 12 matches this time around, unlike six in 2014.

With just over a week before the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) starts off in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), excitement is at an all-time high, owing to the fact that this would only be the third time when the tournament would be held overseas. Furthermore, with no spectators expected inside the venues, the tournament would be a television treat for most of the fans.

As for the three venues in UAE (Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah), most of the matches would be held in Dubai, owing to its better facilities and maximum seating capacity.
