Dubai: Ahead of the start of the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020), defending champions Mumbai Indians have revealed their three “pillars of strength”.
The Rohit Sharma-led side will play on the opening day of the league on September 19 as they face Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Abu Dhabi.
Both teams are preparing for the tournament in the UAE. It is a blockbuster opening clash between the last year’s finalists. In IPL 2019, MI edged CSK in a thrilling final.
On Tuesday (September 8), MI took to their official Twitter account to unveil the franchise’s “pillars of strength”. They posted a picture of their captain Rohit flanked by paceman Jasprit Bumrah and all-rounder Hardik Pandya.
“MI Pillars of Strength #OneFamily #MumbaiIndians #MI #Dream11IPL @ImRo45 @Jaspritbumrah93 @hardikpandya7,” the four-time IPL winners captioned the post.
There is no doubt that Rohit, Jasprit and Hardik are three key players for MI. Rohit holds the record for being the only captain to have won four IPL trophies. Jasprit is one of the best in all three formats of the game. And, Hardik has made a name for himself with his big-hitting and also his bowling.
MI are one of the favourites to lift the title. Fans are eagerly waiting for the first ball to be bowled on September 19.
