Fans seem elated with the smooth execution of the thirteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) amid the pandemic. The second week of the doubleheader will see match 24 of the season, between Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

With a sluggish start at the start of the tournament, KKR is now picking up and has been able to close matches off late. KXIP is still struggling to win its second match of the tournament.

Team Composition
KKR is a perfect blend of young and experienced players, and of late all of them have been seen giving their full on the field. KXIP too seems to have a complete side. The teams might see a close match if KXIP carries a little extra confidence.

Current form
KXIP is at the bottom of the table while KKR is at the exact middle i.e. at the fourth position. KKR have won some close matches, and the players look like they are in good touch. The underdogs, KXIP, will have to roar a little to make a comeback in the season.

Head to head
The teams have clashed with each other 25 times. KKR have won 17 times while KXIP have managed to win just eight times. The previous records might bring extra confidence among KKR players.

Weather and pitch report
The temperature is likely to be as high as 35 degrees providing little respite for the players. As observed in the initial matches, the pitch is slow in Abu Dhabi, which slows down further in the second innings. Any score around 175 will be a competitive one.

Predicted 11
KXIP:
KL Rahul (c), Chris Gayle, Mayank Agarwal, Mandeep Singh, Nicholas Pooran (wk), Simran Singh, Ravi Bishnoi, Arshdeep Singh/Deepak Hooda, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Mohammed Shami, Sheldon Cottrell.
KKR: Shubman Gill, Rahul Tripathi, Sunil Narine, Nitish Rana, Dinesh Karthik (c)(wk), Eoin Morgan, Andre Russell, Pat Cummins, Shivam Mavi, Varun Chakravarthy, Kamlesh Nagarkoti.

Dream 11 players
Batsmen: Shubman Gill (vc), Mayank Agarwal, Rahul Tripathi, Eoin Morgan- Gill, and Agarwal can provide an excellent start. Tripathi can consolidate in the middle and Morgan can hit those big shots.
All-Rounders: Andre Russell- The man is a unique performer both with the bat and the ball. He can play the big shots with the willow and get the breakthroughs with the ball.
Keeper:  KL Rahul (c), Nicholas Pooran. Both Rahul and Pooran are wicketkeeper batsmen. They can understand the situation well and play accordingly.

Bowlers: Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Varun Chakravarthy, Mohammed Shami, Ravi Bishnoi- The wristy spinners comprising Chakravarthy and Bishnoi can spin the ball well while the pace attack comprising Nagarkoti and Shami can restrict the opposition to a low score.

Players to watch out for
Chris Gayle: There is a fair chance that Punjab will include him in the playing eleven. Maybe, his power-hitting in the second innings can make the targets chasable for Punjab.
Sunil Narine: The Windies all-rounder has recently pulled matches in KKR’s favor with his deceptive bowling. However, a thunderous batting performance from him is still awaited.
Dinesh Karthik: The captain and wicket-keeper of KKR have not enjoyed a fruitful season as far as his individual performance is concerned. He will soon have to make a mark in the upcoming matches.
