Were Delhi Capitals' 'fined' for speeding in Dubai? Find out what the team meant when they said this ahead of IPL 2020
Dubai: All eight teams’ preparations are in full swing for the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) which starts in Abu Dhabi on September 19. The franchises are using social media to update their fans on what is happening in the UAE.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) moved IPL out of India due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Now, Indian fans’ only source to see their favourite players’ in action in training is through social media.
Due to the pandemic, players and officials are staying in bio-secure environments. Fans are not allowed at training venues, grounds, stadiums.
This year’s IPL will be played in front of empty stands. This will be the first time in the history of IPL that no spectators will be allowed into the stadiums. All these measures are taken due to the pandemic.
In these difficult times, all eight franchises are regularly sharing pictures, videos on social media. Fans are happy to receive the updates.
One such update which caught the eye of the fans on Tuesday night (September 8) was from Delhi Capitals’ (DC) Twitter handle.
DC have a battery of pace bowlers including South Africans Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje, India’s Ishant Sharma, Mohit Sharma, Harshal Patel, Avesh Khan, Tushar Deshpande, and Keemo Paul of West Indies.
Flaunting their fast bowling riches with images of seven of their pacemen, DC took to their Twitter page to claim, “No wonder we keep getting fined for speeding in Dubai #Dream11IPL #YehHaiNayiDilli @SevensStadium (sic).”
