Deepak Chahar has tested negative for the coronavirus and he could feature in CSK's opening match against Mumbai Indians on September 19 in IPL 2020
Dubai: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) paceman Deepak Chahar is back to the team hotel in Dubai after testing negative for the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Chahar was one of the 13 members of the CSK contingent to have tested positive for the virus. Last week, he had updated on social media that he has “recovered well”. He was in 14-day isolation in a separate hotel in Dubai.
On Wednesday (September 9), the official Twitter handle of CSK posted a picture of the paceman showing double thumbs up at the ICC Academy ground. The franchise captioned it, “Deeback Chahar!”
“Deepak Chahar has returned two negative tests for Covid 19 and is back in team bubble,” CSK CEO KS Viswanathan told news agency PTI on Wednesday.
“Now as per BCCI protocol he will undergo a cardio vascular test which will be an indicator of his recovery. After that he will have another Covid Test and if he is negative he can join the training,” Viswanathan said.
In the opening match of IPL 2020 on September 19, CSK will face defending champions Mumbai Indians in Abu Dhabi.
