A day after the BBMP bed scam comes to light, the CCB arrested war room in charge and a BBMP doctor. Meanwhile, home minister, Basavaraj Bommai said the probe will not be limited to South Zone and all zones war rooms' records will be probed. 

The 2021 Indian Premier League has been suspended indefinitely following compound COVID bubble breaches. Delhi saw the most affected bubble, from players to support staff and groundstaff getting infected, while the city itself is on red alert.

 Uttar Pradesh is witnessing a spurt in coronavirus cases over the past few weeks. Currently, the state has more than three lakh active cases.  

Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Karnataka, Kerala, Haryana, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan reported 70.91% of the new Covid-19 cases reported in a day, the ministry said.

Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa Wednesday clarified that a decision on whether or not a full-fledged lockdown should be imposed in the state to mitigate the spread of Covid-19 would be taken based on directions from Prime Minister Modi.

“Our government has decided to consider journalists as frontline workers and accord priority in vaccination against Covid-19,” Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa announced on Tuesday.  

"Good to see our healthcare workers and nurses set an example in reducing vaccine wastage. Reducing vaccine wastage is important in strengthening the fight against COVID-19," the Prime Minister wrote.

In a well networked scam, BBMP officials allegedly joined hands with brokers to block hospital beds and allegedly charged heavy amount from symptomatic patients to allocate beds for treatment. A case has been registered and two staff have been arrested.
