Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Friday sought applications for an opening -- technology lead at his Ministry of Electronics and IT.

He called the opportunity as a medium to help the ministry accelerate and expand PM Narendra Modi’s vision of Digital India.

He took to Twitter and wrote, “This tweet is for u - If you are PASSIONATE n SHARP abt Tech/Deep Tech n would like a 1-2 yr stint in Govt, I am looking for a Technology Lead in my office at @GoI_MeitY to help me accelerate n expand PM @narendramodi ji's vision of #DigitalIndia.”

  The Digital India Initiative, the flagship programme of the Modi-led government was launched on July 1 in 2015 by the Prime Minister.

Two days ago, the Union minister informed that over 70% of the 50 most innovative global companies have a research and development centre in India.

Addressing the 13th edition of the Design and Engineering Summit of NASSCOM, the Union Minister of State for Electronics and IT, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship said that over $31 billion revenue is generated from the engineering, research and development sector.

He further said that India is home to over 1000 global companies that have set up centres in India for product R&D across diverse sectors.

"It is almost like there is 'India Inside' in almost every product we consume," MoS Rajeev Chandrasekhar said.
