Bengaluru youth stabbed for not wishing on New Year
A youth was stabbed by drunken teens for not wishing them on New Year. The victim has been identified as Praveen, Kurubarahalli resident in west Bengaluru. He has been admitted to a private hospital and the police have registered a case.
Bengaluru: A youth was stabbed by bike-borne miscreants for not wishing them on New Year in the wee hours of Tuesday (January 1).
The victim, identified as Praveen, was heading home after witnessing New Year celebrations when the incident happened.
According to the victim, he was stopped at Kamalanagar in Kurabarahalli in west Bengaluru by bike-borne men and asked him to wish them for New Year. They wielded a knife at him. Fearing the attack, Praveen tried to escape but the duo caught and attacked him.
"I was scared and wanted to avoid them and move on but they held me by the shirt and attacked me and left," said the victim.
The victim was later admitted to a private hospital where he is recovering. The victim has suffered cut marks on his hand and face.
The Basaveshwara Nagar Police have registered a case and are investigating.
