Two train accidents in Vijayawada averted due to vigilant pointsmen

The vigilant pointsmen and the prompt action of the railway officials has averted the danger for two trains and saved the lives of many passengers.

According to Vijayawada Railway Station Manager Ch Suresh, Dhanbad – Alleppey Express (13351) reached the 6th platform of Vijayawada railway station on Thursday morning. The pointsman observed the broken spring beneath the general bogie and informed the station officials.

The technical staff and railway officials changed the bogie and sent the train on its way at 9:20 am.

Another train on the same night faced similar problem and the brisk action of the Vijayawada station officials averted danger. Puri – Okha Dwaraka Express (18402) reached platform 7 on Thursday night. The pointsman found that the wheel spring was broken for the sleeper bogie.

Another bogie was arranged and the train left on schedule. The passengers thanked the railway officials for their vigilant duty and prompt action.
